24-hour emergency care for children - information for parents

The main differences between emergency and emergency medical care

In emergency cases, when qualified medical assistance is needed, the emergency number is usually dialed. However, not everyone knows that recently this service was divided into two divisions – urgent and fast. What is the difference between urgent and emergency medical care and where to call in case of a hypertensive crisis and a high temperature in a child?

So, the ambulance team – they are specialists who provide emergency assistance in cases that require an immediate response. The ambulance is a city emergency department. Emergency care – it is part of district polyclinics. If the patient needs an urgent consultation of the district doctor and his condition is not in any danger, an emergency service is dispatched to the call. Everyone, including school-aged children, should know how to call the city ambulance service.

Reasons for calling an ambulance:

  • all types of injuries, including fractures;
  • sudden disturbance of breathing, loss of consciousness;
  • severe allergic reactions;
  • coma with diabetes (hypoglycemic and hyperglycemic);
  • emergency aid for high blood pressure (critical indicators);
  • sharp headache with impaired speech and confusion;
  • sudden sharp pain behind the sternum, in the abdomen, in the lower back;
  • accidents, heat stroke, frostbite;
  • all types of asphyxia;
  • bites of snakes, spiders.

The complete list of situations in which emergency medical assistance is required can be found in the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine under number 370.

How to properly call an ambulance:

  • after hearing the response of the dispatcher, quickly answer his questions regarding the condition and age of the patient;
  • clearly state the address, intercom code and convenient entrance to the house.

It is advisable to meet the ambulance team and inform the doctor about the patient's condition.

The arrival time of the ambulance in the city – 15 minutes after receiving the call. In rural areas, an ambulance should arrive no later than 20 minutes after the call.

Important: if there are suddenly problems with communication and the person did not have time to name the address, the phone number determination system will work. Help will be provided in any case.

Providing 24-hour emergency care for children

As mentioned above, emergency help is called in the absence of a threat to life. This service is equivalent to calling a doctor at home. Children's Emergency Department – it is primarily a pediatrician who will determine the causes of the painful condition, provide medical assistance and prescribe a course of therapy. If necessary, the doctor will help the parents in the hospitalization of the baby. Provision of 24-hour emergency care for children – free service. Parents must have the contact number of the children's emergency team.

On our website https://www.newdobrobut.com/  you will be able to consult on any issue related to the health of the baby, and get an answer to the question ""why the private ambulance does not leave"" on a road accident».

In which cases the ambulance will not come

Let's clarify once again that the fast – this is an emergency departure of specialists to solve difficult situations when the patient's life is at risk (example – emergency care in case of coma). In all other cases, you should call an emergency room from the district polyclinic.

Conditions that do not require an ambulance:

  • exacerbation of chronic pathologies (an exception is emergency care during an asthma attack);
  • slight increase in temperature against the background of acute respiratory syndrome;
  • hypertensive crisis with non-critical blood pressure indicators;
  • intensification of pain in cancer patients.

In these cases, it is necessary to use the emergency phone number.

Emergency care for bleeding at the pre-hospital stage

When there is no threat to a person's life and urgent hospitalization is not required, an emergency team leaves.

Situations when you need to call an emergency:

  • strong cough, shortness of breath, hoarseness of voice;
  • food poisoning;
  • heart pain in hypertensive patients;
  • exacerbation of radiculitis, osteochondrosis;
  • pain in cancer patients;
  • migraine-type headaches;
  • exacerbation of chronic diseases;
  • small burns;
  • increased temperature against the background of acute respiratory syndrome;
  • abdominal pain in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Emergency care for bleeding at the pre-hospital stage also belongs to this category.

The emergency care team does not hospitalize patients and does not go to road accidents.

What are the differences between ambulances and emergency vehicles

The ambulance is equipped with the necessary equipment depending on the call. As for the ambulance, the car has everything to provide emergency assistance to the patient (acid cylinders, defibrillators, etc.).

First aid for anaphylactic shock:

  • call an ambulance;
  • limit the victim's contact with the allergen;
  • put the patient on the bed with the legs raised;
  • turn the head to the side to avoid aspiration of vomiting masses;
  • ensure access to fresh air (loosen tight clothing);
  • give an antihistamine drug;
  • After the arrival of the team, the patient will be given adrenaline, glucocorticoids and antihistamines.

If you still have questions, make an appointment for a consultation at a convenient time. The doctor will answer your questions and tell you about the algorithm for providing pre-medical care in emergency situations. If necessary, in our center you can perform a full examination of the body (ultrasound, computer diagnostics, X-ray, electrocardiogram, etc.), pass the necessary tests, get a transcript of the data, and undergo a full course of treatment and rehabilitation. Appointment – online and by phone. Please contact us, we are always happy to help!
