The treatment that gives the opportunity to live

The treatment that gives the opportunity to live

There are many misconceptions about cancer that we encounter in routine practice.

"Fear the disease, not the treatment," our experts urge. Why? Because the disease will definitely kill you, and the treatment will give you a chance to live.

Often, patients and their relatives are afraid of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. Sometimes they hear from friends, or incompetent (or dishonest!) journalists in the mass media say and write about it, that "chemotherapy is dangerous, it will kill you, it's a strong poison, it hurts a lot." Because of this fear, many patients with curable cancers refuse treatment. This is a dangerous mistake!

If you don't take treatment, you will die of cancer. If you go through chemotherapy, you give yourself a chance to live. A lot depends on what kind of cancer you have. For example, if you have Hodgkin's lymphoma or testicular cancer, your chance of dying from chemotherapy is about 0.1%, and the chance of a cure is over 90%.

It may seem strange to you, but a patient is more likely to die from a traffic accident on the way to the clinic than from chemotherapy. Not everyone develops side effects: about 60% of patients have no negative effects; 30% have mild side effects; less than 10% - serious side effects. Experienced oncologists and chemotherapists identify and treat side effects.

In addition, you should know that immunotherapy and targeted therapy, even for patients with an incurable form of cancer, can improve the quality of life, significantly reduce pain and significantly prolong life. Today, the oncologist's task is to transform cancer from an incurable disease to a chronic one.

There are effective medications for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. So please, if you or a relative is diagnosed with cancer, give yourself or a loved one the chance to live, or at least have a good quality of life.

Our clinical oncologists and chemotherapists will always help, answer any worrying questions, prescribe the optimal treatment, provide support throughout the treatment and dynamic monitoring after its end. With us, you can leave fear and doubt behind and be sure that you are on the right path.
