More than 100 Dobrobut medical staff were vaccinated as part of the national COVID-19 vaccination campaign

Kyiv, March 5, 2021 — More than 100 medical professionals from the "Dobrobut" medical network, working in hospitals, emergency care, clinics, and providing assistance to COVID-19 patients, have been vaccinated as part of the national COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

A social media flash mob, #IAmADoctorIAmGettingVaccinated, was launched by doctors from the "Dobrobut" medical network and supported by healthcare workers across Ukraine. Doctors urged their colleagues to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect themselves and contribute to the development of herd immunity in response to the pandemic.

Tetiana Anikeyeva, Medical Director of the "Dobrobut" Medical Network:
"We fully support the vaccination campaign and understand its critical importance. Today, we are getting vaccinated against COVID-19. We – the medical professionals who work with COVID-19 patients – are receiving the vaccine as part of the national vaccination program with the vaccine provided by the state. Today, the entire country is watching the medical community. People’s lives depend not only on our actions but also on our example. Tell your colleagues and patients: I am a doctor, and I am getting vaccinated against COVID-19."

Stanislava Rykova, Chief Infection Control Manager of the "Dobrobut" Medical Network:
"We reached out to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine with a request to vaccinate the medical workers of the 'Dobrobut' medical network who treat COVID-19 patients. We received a prompt response, and today, a mobile team from the Kyiv City Health Department administered the first dose of the vaccine to our staff. Vaccination is extremely important as it helps build herd immunity. We urge all people in priority groups to get vaccinated and contribute to Ukraine’s and the global community’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic."

Oleksii Rykov, Medical Director of Pediatrics at the "Dobrobut" Medical Network:
"I work with children, including those with COVID-19. I do not want to put myself, my family, or my patients at risk, which is why I am getting vaccinated. Thanks to vaccination, we have managed to stop the widespread transmission of diseases like measles, smallpox, and polio. Likewise, COVID-19 vaccination will help us overcome the pandemic. For herd immunity to develop, at least 60% of the population must be vaccinated. That is why we at the 'Dobrobut' medical network are committed to making every effort to support and expand the vaccination process in Ukraine."

As part of the national vaccination campaign, 12,481 vaccinations had been administered as of March 4, 2021. According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Roadmap, healthcare workers are in the priority group for vaccination. They are at high risk of infection and play a crucial role in maintaining the healthcare system.
